SETIAKU (D4 IT A)

Roro Jonggrang temple, people usually calls it Prambanan temple, located in both of provinces in Indonesia, That is D.I. Yogyakarta and Central Java. This temple group called “Prambanan” because located in Prambanan and “Roro Jonggrang” name is related to a princess, a daughter of King Boko.

Prambanan temple is a group of temple that created by Kings of Sanjaya dynasty at 9th century ago.

      The main temple:

1.      Siva Temple:

Temple with 32m2 basis areas and height 47m is the largest and most important. Called Siva temple because inside there are Siva statue which also the biggest statue.

a.       The Hindu God Siva Statue

In Both India and Indonesia Siva is very famous. In Java, Hindu God        Siva is the highest one in Hindu God. This statue has height 3m and stand on a rock foundation with height 1m. Between the statue foot and the foundation there are a circle rock with lotus shape.

b.      The Siva Professor Statue

This statue has a shape just like an old man with long beard and paunchy. Right hand bring prayer beads, left hand bring pitcher, and his shoulder with fan.

c.       Ganesa Statue

This statue has a shape like human body with elephant head and has 4 arms which has sitting and paunchy.

d.      Roro Jonggrang Statue

This statue has a shape like a woman with 8 hands that bring many weapon, those are Cakra, Gada, Arrow, Sankha, Shield, Bull’s tail, Archer’s bow, and Asura’s hair.

2.      Brahma Temple:

This temple has area 20m2 and height 37m. Inside this temple there is Brahma statue with 4 heads and 4 arms. 4 explain the 4 Weda holy book that are facing to 4 direction.

3.      Vishnu Temple:

This temple same as Brahma temple but inside there is Vishnu statue with 4 hands hold cudgel and cakra.

4.      Nandi Temple:

This temple has area 15m2 and height 25m. Inside this temple there is a dragon statue with Garuda.

5.      Goose Temple:

This temple hasn’t anything inside. Area of this temple is 13 m2 with height 22m. Perhaps this room just used to stable of goose. Goose is an animal that usually ride by Brahma.

6.      Garuda Temple:

This temple like Goose Temple but in this temple there is a small statue a Garuda with a Dragon down.

7.      Apit Temple:

This temple has area 6m2 and height 16. Inside is empty, perhaps this room used to meditate before go to main temple.

8.      Kelir Temple:

This temple has are 1.55 m2 and height 4.10 m. This temple hasn’t way to enter.

9.      Sudut Temple:

The dimension of this temple just like Kelir Temple.
